Concert Master Cynthia Penderghast brings to the Yorba Linda Symphony Orchestra many years of performance and instruction.  Cindy graduated from California State University, Fullerton with a B.A. in Violin Performance, where she was Concert Master for three years with the University Orchestra. During her years of study, she has received numerous scholarships and awards, including "The Congress of Strings" and the "Los Angeles Philharmonic Institute." Her career as a violinist includes performances with several symphonies, including Capistrano, South Coast and Santa Maria. She was also a member of the Young Musicians Foundation "Debut Symphony Orchestra" for five years, and served as coach and counselor of the "Disney Young Musicians Symphony Orchestra" for four years. Cindy is currently a resident of Yorba Linda where she keeps busy home schooling her four children, and with additional hobbies such as composing, sculpting, painting, singing, and martial arts (she is a fourth-degree black belt).
